New Age Marketing: Law Firms Increasing Use of Internet.Two new ABA Surveys Show Continued Trends in Law Firm Internet Strategies

The large firm survey identifies both technology trends and new developments in the 500 largest law firms in the United States. It had previously been conducted annually by the Chicago-Kent School of Law since 1985. The addition of this research element complements the 1997 Small Firm Technology Survey conducted by the ABA for the sixth time since 1988. "The small firm survey provides key data on changing technology patterns among the nation's largest group of lawyers.

This article discusses in detail currently proposed standards and protocols for the management of public key infrastructures in the context of the management of the risks to which certification authorities will be exposed in the course of their operations. A certification authority is a key component in a public key infrastructure. Public key infrastructures will play an essential role in the establishment of a world-wide information infrastructure.

Goal is to to centralize and codify an overarching national Internet policy.

This article discusses the draft UCC for the Internet : address not just tax, tariff and jurisdictional questions, but also questions about privacy, security and consumer protection. And, because it grew out of a trade policy initiative, the group has focused primarily on Internet commerce.
